World Day against Child Labour 2018 observed globally
The World Day against Child Labour was observed across the world on June 12, 2018, with an aim to raise awareness against child labor.

The theme of World Day against Child Labour 2018 was ‘Generation Safe & Healthy’.

There are 541 million young workers (15-24 years old) globally.

They account for more than 15 percent of the world’s labor force and suffer up to a 40 percent higher rate of non-fatal occupational injuries. 

Over 73 million children are in hazardous work and almost half of the 152 million children aged 5 to 17 are still into child labor.


Tripura Government takes number of initiatives to preserve, promote cultural heritage

Tripura government taken a number of initiatives to preserve and promote the cultural heritage of the state.

AIR correspondent reports, the Director of Information & Cultural Affairs, Ms. Vishwasree.B the culture aspect of Tripura has always been an integral part of Tripura Government to promote cultural heritage as well as the positive outlook of the people. 

She informed about the various initiatives taken by the state government to promote and conserve state's cultural heritage.

The Tripura’s culture is mainly nature oriented and thus brings out a uniqueness of the state.

While the fusion of Indian culture also seen in Tripura. People from across the country have settled.

Mr. Sudhir Anand from Bihar has been working for the last six years as Sr. Geologist. He is very impressed with the state’s rich culture.

He represents a fine blend of traditional and contemporary styles. It is also a manifestation of the admixture of age-old traditions, customs and beliefs of people of a varied cult.

Andhra CM Chandra Babu Naidu inaugurates diaphragm wall pylon of Polavaram project

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandra Babu Naidu inaugurated the diaphragm wall pylon at the multipurpose irrigation project Polavaram.

Addressing the small gathering here, Naidu assured that the mega irrigation venture will be completed by December 2019.

Expressing satisfaction over the progress of construction, the Chief Minister said that near about 55 percent work has been completed.

Taking a pot-shot at Central government Babu claimed that Rs 1000 crore has not been released by the BJP government. The TDP Chief also slammed YCR Congress party for stalling the ongoing project.

Indias first national police museum to come up in New Delhi

The Union Government decided to establish India’s first national police museum in Lutyens' Delhi.

The unique museum, depicting the history, artifacts, uniforms and gear of central and state police forces, will come up as an underground facility in the premises of the national police memorial in Chanakyapuri area of the national capital.

The museum is expected to be inaugurated on the occasion of Police Commemoration Day, by either Prime Minister Narendra Modi or Home Minister Rajnath Singh.

The central armed police forces (CAPFs), the central police organizations and the state police forces have been asked to collect their historical documents, items, police-related gazette notifications and unique weapons and uniforms so that it can be displayed at the museum.

The items sought to be put in the first-ever national police museum will include brass insignia, ceremonial and operational head gears and uniforms, batons, belts, distinctive photographs of dog squads, mounted columns and old copies of the Indian Police Act.

India and Norway sign MoU to extend health cooperation

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to extend the cooperation within the health sector.

The cooperation will be extended through the Norway India Partnership Initiative (NIPI) for a period of three years starting from 2018 to 2020.

This cooperation between India and Norway is aligned with the development goals of Indian Government as outlined in its National Health Policy 2017 for the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 

It will focus on global health issues of common interest.

It will enable cooperation in the areas related to maternal, newborn, child health and shall build on experiences from NIPI phase I and II.

Donald Trump And Kim Sign Agreement On Denuclearization After Historic Talks

The United States decided to provide security guarantees to North Korea, in exchange of Pyongyang's firm and unwavering commitment to complete denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula. 

This is according to the joint document which was signed by US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un following their historic maiden talks at Singapore's Sentosa island.

Both nations commit to establishing new relations in accordance with the desire of the people of the two countries for peace and prosperity.


Ronda Rousey To Be The First Female Hall Of Famer In UFC

American fighter Ronda Rousey will become the first female MMA fighter to be inducted into the Ultimate Fighting Championship Hall of Fame, the UFC announced.

There would be no women in UFC without Ronda Rousey. 

Rousey had a 12-2 win-loss record, winning 11 of them within the first round of the fight.
