Business First Portal launched to ease out business in Punjab
In a major step to give a big push towards the ease of doing business in the state, the Punjab government launched a "Business First Portal".
After launching a "Business First Portal", Punjab Industry Minister Sunder Sham Arora while addressing the industrialists said that online Portal would facilitate the industrialists for Regulatory Clearances and Fiscal Approvals, real-time tracking of applications at a common platform.
The visionary and dynamic leadership of chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh the Punjab government has decided to accelerate economic growth by providing liberal incentives to the entrepreneurs under new Industrial Policy, which would be implemented soon.
Minister Arora also said that the governments have taken path breaking initiatives like District level approvals for a micro-industry by the committee under deputy commissioner up to Rs. 10 crores.
The Minister also noted that the state government was committed to ensuring 100% VAT refund to industrialists by the end of this year.

President Ram Nath Kovind distributed LPG connections to 20 beneficiaries under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana at Raj Bhavan in Agartala in the morning.
During his two-day visit to Tripura, the President inaugurated 73 km long National Highway connecting Udaipur town in Gomati district and Sabroom in South Tripura.
He laid the foundation stone for the re-development of Matabari Temple Complex at Tripura Sundari temple.
He attended a civic reception hosted by the state government in Agartala and declared ‘Queen’ pineapple variety of Tripura as state fruit.
The Centre is making sincere efforts to develop the state as well as the entire north-eastern region.
The President has since left for Delhi.

India and Denmark sign MoU in the field of sustainable and smart urban development
ndian and Denmark signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the field of Sustainable and Smart Urban Development.
The MoU will create employment in the areas of integrated solid waste management including waste to energy, sustainable transport systems, water and sanitation management, energy efficiency, resource mobilization.
The objective of this MoU is to promote bilateral cooperation in the field of sustainable and smart urban development on the basis of reciprocity and mutual benefit through the exchange of knowledge, institutional cooperation, research and development and commercial relations on related issues.
Areas of cooperation include smart urban solutions, liveability, sustainable and integrated urban planning, re-development and land use, integrated solid waste management including waste to energy, sustainable transport systems, water and sanitation management, energy efficiency, resource mobilization and other related areas mutually agreed upon.

EFC extends timeline of Dam Rehabilitation & Improvement Project to 2020
The Expenditure Finance Committee (EFC) on June 7, 2018, approved the revised cost estimate of the Dam Rehabilitation & Improvement Project (DRIP) for Rs 3466 crore and extended time period for the conclusion of the project till June 2020
The approval came during a meeting of the EFC under the Chairpersonship of Secretary, Department of Expenditure that was held to consider the proposal of Union Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation for a revised cost estimate of the DRIP.
The meeting was attended by officials of Ministry of Power, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, NITI Ayog and Ministry of Environment.

Bangladesh beat India by 3 wickets to clinch Women’s T20 Asia Cup
Bangladesh beat six-time champions India by three wickets to lift their maiden Asia Cup title at the Kinrara Stadium in Kuala Lumpur .
India, who had lifted the title on all six occasions since the inception of the tournament in 2004, were aiming to lift a seventh title in Malaysia but the Indian batting line-up, barring captain Harmanpreet Kaur, failed to live up to their billing and managed to put only 112 runs on board.

French Open 2018: Rafael Nadal beats Dominic Thiem to win 11th title
World number one Rafael Nadal won an 11th French Open title by beating Austrian Dominic Thiem in straight sets.
Nadal, 32, won 6-4 6-3 6-2 to earn his 17th Grand Slam, three adrift of Roger Federer's all-time men's record.
The Spaniard edged an intense opening set, tightening his grip in the second.
And despite having cramp in the third he increased the tempo further, beating Thiem in his first major final when the 24-year-old returned long.
