Maharashtra Government announces financial aid for tur farmers
Maharashtra government will provide a financial grant of 1,000 rupees per quintal to those farmers whose tur and gram could not be purchased by the administration before the May 31 deadline.
The state government had set up tur procurement target of 44.6 lakh quintals.
The government had started purchasing tur from farmers by offering them guaranteed rates following bumper tur production.
Speaking to reporters after a weekly cabinet meeting, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said the government will also give a financial aid of 160 crore rupees to farmers whose crops got damaged due to unseasonal rain or hailstorm.
The chief minister also announced a special subsidy for milk producers.

Ministry of Women and Child Development holds National Consultation on Child Protection
The Union Ministry of Women and Child Development (WCD) on June 5, 2018 organised the National Consultation on Child Protection in New Delhi. The conference purposefully discussed the Juvenile Justice (Care and protection of Children) Act (JJ Act), 2015 and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), 2012.
The first part of National Consultation focused on deliberations with regard to JJ Act, 2015; POCSO Act, 2012; Trackchild and Childline (1098) with an aim to introspect on various issues and concerns which have manifested lately.

Centre proposes to ban obscene depiction of women on internet
The Ministry of Women and Child Development on June 4, 2018 proposed amendments to the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act (IRWA), 1986 with an aim to ban obscene and indecent depiction of women on internet.
The amendments were proposed after the government received the inputs from the parliamentary standing committee formed in 2012 to study a bill to bring the law up to date and also from the National Commission for Women.

Repo Rate Increased By 25 Bps In Second Bi-Monthly Monetary Policy Statement (2018-19)
Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of Reserve Bank of India increased the policy Repo Rate under the liquidity adjustment facility (LAF) by 25 basis points to 6.25 percent in the Second Bi-monthly Monetary Policy Statement (2018-19). Consequently, the reverse repo rate under the LAF stands adjusted to 6.0 percent, and the marginal standing facility (MSF) rate and the Bank Rate to 6.50 percent.
